Highland Park is a small city surrounded by Detroit. In 1915, Highland Park High School opened to a huge influx of people during that time period thanks to Henry Ford opening his Model T Ford plant along Woodward Ave. In the 1970's the school was converted to a community college. The college closed for good in 2009, leaving it vacant since then. In May 2022 a fire broke out in the auditorium. No plans to renovate or demolish at this time.
